12-year-old Yağız Kaan Erdoğmuş (12 years, 9 months and 30 days) is among the youngest grandmasters in the history of chess and is now one of the “youngest grandmasters in the world” according to the International Chess Federation (FIDE) rankings. In the “age ranking” he is in 4th place worldwide behind Abhimanyu Mishra from the USA (12 years, 4 months and 25 days), Mishra Sergey Karjakin from Ukraine (12 years, 7 months) and Gukesh Dommaraju from India (12 years, 7 months, 17 days). Yağız Kaan Erdoğmuş became Turkey’s “youngest grandmaster”.
