More than three years after the opening of Istanbul Airport, there is now also a metro line to the mega-airport, the “Kağıthane – Istanbul Airport” line. It was inaugurated at a ceremony on Sunday. From Beşiktaş (Gayrettepe) the metro line has nine stations and runs through the districts of Kağıthane, Eyüpsultan and Arnavutköy. From the central Taksim Square, the journey takes about 40 minutes with changes. According to official information, the approximately 34-kilometer-long metro line has a daily capacity of 800,000 travelers.
Istanbul Airport is now 24 minutes from Kağıthane, 12 minutes from Göktürk, 45 minutes from Esenler, 41 minutes from Taksim, 33 minutes from Zincirlikuyu and 35 minutes from 4. Levent.
