According to the Turkish Electricity Company (TEIAS), last Sunday 207,906 megawatt hours were generated from wind energy alone. According to this, 27.8 percent of the total electricity generation was generated from wind energy on that day. The last all-time high of November 21 (204,375 megawatt hours) was thus exceeded. According to TEIAS, a total of 747,911 megawatt hours of electricity was generated on Sunday. The country consumed the most electricity at 7 p.m. at 35,785 megawatt hours, and at 5 a.m. the lowest electricity consumption was recorded at 27,204 megawatt hours. While wind turbines account for the largest share of electricity generation in Turkey, coal remains an important energy source. Coal from abroad (21.4 percent) and domestic lignite-fired power plants (17.3 percent) take second and third place in the production of energy.
