Changes to the Turkish TÜV

TÜVTÜRK has announced an important change that affects vehicle owners. The duration of vehicle inspections for some vehicles has now changed and some obligations have been eliminated.

In Turkey, over 25 million vehicles are registered for traffic, which, depending on their class and age, must be inspected at TÜVTÜRK stations at certain times.

While uninspected vehicles are banned from driving, drivers no longer have to undergo an inspection in the first three years when buying a new car.

In the past, TÜVTÜRK had outsourced exhaust gas measurements to various authorized dealers in order to shorten inspection times and avoid traffic jams.

Another important change made by the authorized institution was the introduction of mobile stations in 77 cities in Turkey, which helped to resolve the congestion in the appointment system.

The inspections of cars, tractors and motorcycles can be carried out at mobile stations. However, vehicles with air-assisted hydraulic braking systems can only be inspected at fixed stations.

The exhaust gas measurement is only carried out at fixed and authorized mobile stations. Tractor inspections can be carried out at all mobile and fixed stations.

The current fees are as follows:

Tractor (with or without trailer), motorcycle and moped 927.60 TL

Car, minibus, pickup, special vehicle, land vehicle, trailer and semi-trailer 1,821.60 TL

Bus, truck, tow truck and tanker 2,462.40 TL
