On April 23, Turkey celebrates the National independency and Children’s Day, which, as a gift from Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, is the only holiday in the world that is celebrated for children with due enthusiasm and satisfaction. It is celebrated every year by the municipality of Alanya under the name “Alanya International Children’s Festival” in collaboration with the Directorate for National Education. The festival organizes various activities for each target audience based on the inseparable trio of children, families and teachers. During the two-week festival there are children’s book days, children’s theater, interviews / meetings with children’s book authors, school team shows, children’s workshops, seminars and training programs organized by experts for parents and educators. The international children’s festival in Alanya is the first and only children’s festival in Turkey with all free activities.
