The fasting month of Ramadan is the most important month of the year, the sultan of the 12 months. Depending on the year, the fasting month of Ramadan lasts 29 or even 30 days. In 2019 it starts on 6 May and ends on 3 June. The duration of the fasting month depends on the state of the moon. Worship and devotion are not the only reasons for fasting during Ramadan. Worldly views and possessions can negatively influence people’s behavior. That is why, during this month, people consciously turn away from these worldly influences. It is important to abstain and find faith and celebrate it. The soul and body are cleansed and released during Lent. Self-control plays another important role, which must be tested and improved in the time of Ramadan.
