A Turkish team of scientists wants to rehabilitate damaged soils in the Arctic region. The 60-strong team led by “Orhan Ince” from the Faculty of Environmental Engineering at Istanbul Technical University wants to conduct field research for this purpose. The aim is to improve damaged areas and ensure sustainable land use.
In an interview with the Anadolu news agency (AA), Ince points out that the conditions in the Arctic play an important role in food and water security.
Ince explained that an emergency plan is being drawn up as part of the project to address ecological problems in the Arctic region. Scientific studies will be carried out and innovative solutions developed. The scientist explained that the aim is to improve soil quality through bioremediation and thus ensure food and water security. This will ultimately create a healthier world for future generations.
